As a mission to mobilise the electrification of vehicles in India, Honda R&D (India) Private Limited, a subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., Ltd started its new R&D Centre in Bengaluru, Karnataka. They aim to achieve carbon neutrality for all its products by 2050 and for their motorcycle and power products by 2040.
As a mission to mobilise the electrification of vehicles in India, Honda R&D (India) Private Limited, a subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., Ltd started its new R&D Centre in Bengaluru, Karnataka. They aim to achieve carbon neutrality for all its products by 2050 and for their motorcycle and power products by 2040. This is in line with the government’s announcement at COP26 to target net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2070.
The new centre will integrate advanced mobility technology and focus on software and connected services, leveraging open innovation through collaborations with research and development companies and also play a major role in their global strategy ensuring the delivery of innovative, environmentally friendly mobility solutions through technological advancements and continuous innovation. Bengaluru being a strategic location it will cover the local companies and partner with pioneering companies to create services and business models that extend beyond existing product scopes.
In addition to the centre, they will also start its Triple Action to ZERO initiative efforts toward carbon neutrality, promoting clean energy, and enhancing resource circulation. They also aim to reduce traffic accidents, aiming to achieve zero traffic collision fatalities by 2050.
